Consider Gratitude

As Christmas and New Years Day nears, I want to take a moment to consider gratitude.

Appreciate Everything. The habit of being grateful starts with appreciating every good thing in life and recognizing that there is nothing too small for you to be thankful for. I am grateful to have a comfortable home to wake up in each morning.

Find Gratitude in your Challenges. Gratitude is not only about being thankful for positive experiences. In fact, sometimes thinking about difficult situations can help nail down what you have to be thankful for. I am grateful for my current health.

Practice Mindfulness. Sit down daily and think through five to ten things you are grateful for. I am grateful Yim is my partner and takes care of us.

Spend time with Loved Ones. It will give you a chance to practice acts of gratitude on people that you care about. I am grateful to be traveling to Montreal this week to see friends and family.

Improve your Happiness. Being grateful can make you happy, and being happy can also make you grateful. There are plenty of other ways to get your mood up, including exercising or a hobby you enjoy. I am grateful for my exercise regime.

Express Yourself. Sometimes it’s not enough to simply keep your gratitude to yourself. You can increase your feelings of gratitude by expressing that same gratitude to the people you care about.

So I am doing that today. I want all of you to know I am grateful to have you all in my life and I wish you all the best in 2023.
